The aim of this artistic project, entitled "Celestial Pollen", is to compare the aesthetics of space constructions with the beauty of the living world confronted with weightlessness, as revealed by science and art, through Haeckel's plates, the work of the Blaschka glassmakers and photographs produced using the electron microscope.
Microscopic in the immensity of the cosmos, like plankton in the depths of the sea, satellites are primary forms in the development of space exploration.
Like microorganisms at the start of an evolutionary chain, they contain the potential for the development of all the higher forms of technological creation. The flight of satellites in zero gravity gives us a glimpse of the new horizons that science and technological engineering will open up.
The blackness of space, like that of the ocean trenches, appeals to the human imagination and awakens the instinct to explore. The age-old dream
ancestral dream of flight mingles with the hope of going beyond the biological limits of the human species, but also beyond the limits of its creative thought.

Olga Kataeva-Rochford is a figurative painter from France. She is a multi-faceted artist : she likes to experiment with materials. Her the most beloved material remains tempera, long-lasting and guaranteed to not fade over time technique. The harmony of its natural pigments reminds of the monumental paintings of the Renaissance and Medieval masters.
Today, she composes works primarily inspired by travel, weaving influences from the Russian landscapes she grew up in as well as artists such as Petrov-Vodkine and Chagall to create a dreamlike world ready for the viewer to dive into.
She works on two core themes. Switching from one to the other gives her a new round of inspiration to convey emotions.
The first theme is maritime art, related to the history of her family. The second is symbolic paintings on philosophical, fairy-tale, mythological subjects. In any case, her art is still always poetic and makes people dream and feel better. Whether she paints dreamlike subjects or seascapes, the main theme remains freedom, joy, the dream of flight, crossings and the exploration of world cultures.
