The drawing is inspired by the myth of the birth of Venus, according to Hesiod's version.

She represents the goddess born from the union of the sea foam with blood. I wanted to represent the goddess as the famous Venus de Milo, missing an arm, not only as a tribute to the famous Hellenistic work, but to give it a more contemporary meaning: the strength of the feminine that rises from any situation, even the most painful, also the one that mutilates her physically and psychologically, to recover and always have the strength to start over.

Concept

I make art because it is the most sincere way I have and probably the only way I want to express myself.
In the current creative period I'm creating anthropomorphic animals, especially elephants, whose I'd learned to understand their symbolic meaning linked in some way to the identity of the territory where I'm living in.
I also often give shape to my nightmares, my fears, but also to the positive emotions that often have insects as symbolic references.
