Formerly inhabited areas, real or fictitious, shows Lost Places. Originally the center of a long stay or short rest. Inhabited by humans or animals. Human intervention has changed this place. But little by little, nature is reclaiming it. In many drawings, I also integrate old, sometimes coloured, faded paper or newsprint into the motif. By sanding it down several times, I show the viewer a past that is similar to the drawings on the walls of old buildings or caves. On this 'weathered surface' I also apply drawings from my observations of nature, the human and animal world using ink and art pen. These are either minimally or partially sanded down again, and only a 'framework' or some contours remain. On this basis, the motif is gradually completed to the finished picture.
