On the back of my wedding announcement, I draw with my ballpoint pen collection. In this important collection, I use slightly different ink colours, and different point shapes that evoke a different type of value.
The format is systematically square. I compose inside with always the idea to fill the space and to give it a sculptural character.
The shapes I draw are made with the help of "forms to be drawn". In various materials of paper, cardboard, plastic, I cut out drawings by letting the movement of the chisel come. These shapes are then used as models and assembled in a graphic composition. I literally caress the smooth paper (matt coated paper) to bring out the volume of the drawing. While drawing, I think about the marvellous complexity of the human body: invisible but universal inner forms: brain, intestine, various organs...
