Barcelona's beachfront district. Overhead, clotheslines protrude from the balconies of the houses, and a narrow street runs beneath them. The midday sun splits the street in half, into light and shadow.
I can see the palm trees and the blue sea at the end of the road, and I can hear the activity of the people gathering at the beach.
I drew this picture because I thought it would be interesting to combine the landscape of the houses with their verandas and the horizon in the distance. I first drew what I saw with a marker, then added shadows with a black pencil, and drew the sea with a blue pencil.
