    Description

    *The works in "sign - B" and "sign - C" are a series, so they have the same concept. The theme of this work is visual perception and language. The acrylic board is used as the base material and the screen-printing technique is utilized. We are inseparable from language. The world changes considerably depending on how we perceive, understand, and use the language we receive. In this work, I used the characteristics of the work, such as the way it changes in appearance depending on the angle and the imaginary reflection of the work in a mirror due to the mirror finish on the back of the work, to examine what kind of existence language has for us. I would like to explore the "invisible existence inside" that cannot be seen from the surface.

    Concept

    The main theme of my work is vision and seeing. We input and output a great deal of information every day, and this information flows inside and outside of us. At the moment I look at an object, there is a sense that there is something between me and the object I am looking at that is difficult to describe in words. I feel that this something contains something important for our act of seeing. The series of acts of seeing are for "the person" including myself and others. The reason why I continue to create is because the elusive question, "What am I looking at? Through my work, I am exploring new sensations and perceptions that arise from the act of looking, and I continue to work to get as close as I can to what it means to see.

    Does this art work need a frame?

    In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.

    What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

    • If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.
    • If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.
    • If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
