Another instance in the exploration of the hidden recesses of an early genre song, setting the scene for what was to come by way of an unforeseen misdirection. There is something too intense about the imagery to label it nostalgic, though it is clearly asking us to contemplate disrepair, and urban anxieties. Disparate individuals are thinking their own thoughts, and surely attempting – as we all have to do sooner or later - to come to terms with the realities of the relationship between romance and money.
