Predictive science fiction, linking a 1930s Batsford illustrative style with future tastes in food and mentality. Polish pork sausage will still be available in 300 years’ time, and the taste will not have noticeably altered. It will also still be possible to roam the English countryside, drinking Coke, but different kinds of thoughts will prevail in the minds of ordinary people. No one knows what these will be, but Coke’s guess is as good as any. The binaries of beauty and sudden horror will not have gone away.
