Merry Everything is a mixed media collage; completely cut out from magazines and books by hand, created as an analogue collage and by hand. Photographed and printed in a limited edition of 150 pieces, delivered with original certificate signed by the artist Iris Jacobs.

As part of the series 'Close To Silence', Merry Everything is about acceptance. Accepting where we are right now, accepting that only by fully embracing where we are, with all our limitations and circumstances, only then, we can make the changes needed, and move in the right direction. If we focus on all that lacks, we get stuck and can not move forward. Merry Everything is about creating space, taking up space and allowing yourself that space to : 'Merry Everything' .

Concept

Multidisciplinary artist Iris Jacobs explores the possibility of finding peace in a world that is ever more screaming for our attention. The imaginary and surreal spaces she creates offer some sort of escape but are never completely accessible. They draw you in, but simultaneously confront you with the impossibility of doing so, both by their abstract nature and their multi dimensionality. Her mixed media collages she creates from colllected and lost and found books, magazines, objects and sometimes paint. She deconstructs realities and builds new ones, and tries to make sense of human behavior by observing them in their movements, ways of living, conversations, how they use their spaces and how design makes an impact on your emotions. She loves to cracks the puzzles of her art works and designs by mixing and playing with forms and colors, structures and textures.

What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
