kune" depicts a fantasy of the microscopic world, valuing the loveliness and wonder of molecular models that start to roll and move. A person climbs on and holds onto the molecular model, which moves as if it were shimmering, and behaves as if he or she were part of the molecule.
Everything in this world and the bodies of living things, including human beings, are undeniably made up of molecules. This is a graphic work that expresses my affection for the molecules that coincidentally formed the life called "I" and became a part of it. The title of the work, kune, which means "together" in Esperanto, conveys the sense of friendship that we feel for them because we can never confirm their existence with the naked eye. In the series of works entitled "Livng Things," which focuses on the activities of sentient beings, this work contains the wonder of life and the mechanisms surrounding it. This is a piece that expands the context of the series.
This time, I used the technique of canvas printing to produce this picture. This is made by applying UV inkjet printing to 100% linen canvas that has already been nailed down. One of the advantages of being a printed piece is that it is lightweight, weighing only about 400 grams. This characteristic makes it easy to decorate the walls of a room by simply hanging it with studs or nails, such as Daruma pins.
The back of the canvas is marked with the title, year of production, and the artist's signature, as well as a statement that the work is an open edition (no limited edition).
