    Description

Portofino summer resort, Italy, visited by many writers. There was a direct flight to Milan and I visited. The townscape is nestled in a cove. I felt the atmosphere of Porto (port) in Italy, although I had limited time to visit. On the train on the way back, I finished the sketch before forgetting the atmosphere. Metallic giclee technique. Printed on metallic sheet. Produced in Honolulu, at a specialized studio. Size of work 35 x 25 cm, thickness 1 mm. Framed in a white kamaboko-shaped frame, double matted by the artist himself at a specialized Japanese art framing studio, to match the style of the work. The work is preserved in a box and a yellow bag.

    Concept

An endless sea of clouds. The world I dreamed of as a child. The moment of the sunrise, a moment of many emotions, I was a sky traveler. Mr. Tetsuya Ueda is a sky traveler. While working as a JAL flight engineer on a 747, he also worked as an artist. His work has been covered by the mass media and newspapers. He has established a unique world of cockpit art as his art style, depicting scenes seen from the cockpit. His aim to become a professional artist was triggered by two watercolor paintings of size 80 that he submitted to the Prova Grand Prize Exhibition. They are Dreamer and Rome on the subject of Rome. The person in charge told me that Teppei Sasakura had judged the works and said they were candidates for the Grand Prize. The sketches were made at work, and they are the subjects of European and Hawaiian art. Through art, I have been able to convey the excitement of the sky. I would like to continue to create art, including landscapes, in the future.
