    Concept

Sol LeWitt developed a series of "wall drawings" in which he draws lines of a fixed length in a radial pattern, delegating the work to a third party using written instructions without his own direct involvement. This technique was also applied to three-dimensional works. In comparison to LeWitt's contemporaries, his work is characterized by his departure from conceptual art and his adoption of a minimalist art form that emphasizes the compositional aspect. In both types of work, the underlying principle is to eliminate the artist's intention and to make the viewer think.
