Skyler was inspired by an Egon Schiele painting of an old barn and created a piece of art in the antique style that celebrates the ridiculousness and power of a young boy's imagination.
In the boy's bedroom, he imagines that his pet cow is with him. Below, there are knights and an American Indian, while hawks soar in the stormy sky above.
The title of the piece, "(U)p too high," is a gentle joke. Are the birds flying too high? Will the imaginary cow, who is located in the upper story bedroom, be able to come down? Is the flimsy house that the boy lives in about to collapse? Are the boy's colorful daydreams necessary and valuable? Only the last question can be answered "yes."
