Boxing has been a popular spectator sport for over 200 years, with some of the earliest recorded boxing matches taking place in the late 18th century. The sport continued to grow in popularity throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, with the introduction of weight divisions, rules and regulations, and major international events such as the Olympic Games.
The traditional perspective on boxing is it's all about the fight and the fighters. However, with boxing becoming big money, big media hype affair, often it seems like the actual fighters are a sideshow to the main show, which is all about sitting in a chair, fully sanctioned, watching two men try to knock one another out.
