Some people claim that prostitution is a “victimless crime.” This assertion is invalidated by the denigration, exploitation, and violence women usually experience in this practice.
As a result, regulation by the government in some countries attempts to make the sex industry a safer and less inequitable transaction environment. Far more efficient and even less sympathetic to the sex workers involved in the trade, this work, “(T)he system notes late for work again,” is one in which the artist imagines the oldest profession developing ultimately from a pimp-control world of violence and drug dependency to a nightmare existence of industrialization in which a machine-controlled system applies AI and surveillance technology to augment control of workers.
