Ghosts are very spooky in that their presence usually is portrayed to include an overwhelming and unsettling sense of absence. Since the last US election, truth-telling, the rule of law, and steadfast devotion to free and fair elections as the bedrock of democracy have come under attack. This bedrock of principles forms the foundation of Republican core values. Yet, there has only been one Republican who has made it clear that this is a very troubling time in US politics: Representative Liz Cheney. On August 16, she lost her opportunity to serve as the Republican candidate for the next US House election to a Trump-backed candidate. "(T)he dance of the 27 ghosts and one republican" is a work made as a tribute to the courage of Ms. Cheney, who choose to stand by her beliefs instead of overlooking unpleasant truths that were politically damaging to her party.
