It is becoming more likely that the wealth of nations and the prospects for any company depend on an ability to design, procure and use computer chips. If this is a global phenomenon that the viewer is sensitive to, there might be a misreading of this work.
The war is not between nations fighting over chip supply, although that is already happening on some level. Skyler adds to the composition a charred ear and a dollar bill that says, "IN CHIPS WE TRUST." These two items suggest that the war we will fight is against our technology. Not in any overt "Terminator" style, but when we lose the possibility to understand how our computers tell us what is true, we become the faithful worshiping a new god.
With growing reliance and increased faith in the wisdom of our digital technologies, we become less attuned to our world and less empowered to set the course of our destinies. At that point, we have lost the fight on the evolutionary battlefield.
