"The sugar pitcher"
This is part of a collection of illustrations revolving around songbirds and tea. The colors for this artwork are chosen from my childhood memories of drinking sweet tea in the evening with a tender sunset colored sky.
Each illustration consists of a songbird, in a contemplative pose, with a part of an earthenware tea set, surrounded by natural elements. They are illustrations that remind us of the medicinal power of nature. In this work, I wanted to illustrate the passing of time, and how time is healing. I hope viewers can connect to nature through these works, and feel the healing and medicinal offerings of our natural world.
