For creating this artwork, "The Courier for Hell", a play by Monzaemon Chikamatsu inspired me.

The inspiration comes from the drama play "The Courier for Hell", published in 1711 by Chikamatsu Monzaemon, which puts at the center of the story a dramatic love-suicide story, widespread genre in Japanese culture. A hidden, impossible love can lead people to make crazy gestures, even at the cost of jeopardizing their own safety: but passion dominates all this. In balance between honor, power and the strength of emotions, we find the sinuous lines of Kamai, who in the delicacy of the work manages to embody contrasting themes. Covered by a veil of melancholy, the flower blooms and makes its way through the fog, bursting from the haze, resilient. A simple yet heartbreaking symbol of eternal and indissoluble love.
