Description

"View 8" is a limited edition museum-quality fine art print from my series "Images of the World". The edition includes only 10 items. To create this work, I combined my scanned hand-made drawings with digital graphics. The print is made with giclée technique in archival quality on world-recognized Hahnemühle paper.

"View 8" will be included in the new video that I'm currently working on. The drawing is devoted to the theme of alternative landscapes that could be seen on Earth if our Solar system was different. Here I represent the way our sky would look if we had the planet J1407b instead of Saturn. J1407b, which is 430 light years away from us, is also called Super-Saturn, because it also has a ring system. But it's so huge that we would see the rings easily from the Earth if the object replaced Saturn in the Solar system. It would be a quite spectacular scenery in the sky.

Concept

In my works I turn to eternal, deep, philosophical questions. Who are we? How are we arranged? What is the essence of human? What language does nature communicate with us? What could extraterrestial life look like? I explore these issues in sculptural series, sometimes combined with graphics. My works refer to the connection of human and space, life on exoplanets, the contact of civilizations, the power of consciousness.

I work with conceptual sculptures, using contrasting combinations of media: handmade objects + video, clay + performance, art glass + found objects, ceramics + digital drawings, etc. Playing with the contrast of traditional handmade and new media, I achieve stronger expression of my message and my artistic language, as well as relevance to contemporary agenda.

Does this art work need a frame?

What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
