Ancient ceremony on the longest day

Concept

The aim of my digital arts practice is to bring together the endless mystery and wonder of the natural environment with my own imagined visions of possible futures. My latest works explore themes of botanical forms and dreamlike places of the future. The collections are called, “Interstellar Jungles” and “Mycelium Light” and feature many wondrous places for the viewers to explore. I like to embed mysterious narratives into my work, often depicting scenes of dystopian cities and botanical overgrowth. Many of my works show silhouettes and textural layers of botanical drawings I created while visiting the Canberra Botanical Gardens, alongside imagined plant species created while working from my studio at Gorman Arts Centre.

I have also been exploring the NFT space with digital animations based on my physical prints. This new platform has a lot to offer the world of art.

I enjoy creating images digitally because I can essentially work anywhere. I find inspiration while traveling in Australia and overseas, in cafes, and meeting people from many different places. I think it keeps my artist practice fresh and interesting. I strive to create works that can be treasured by art collectors and art lovers. Each of my pieces is limited edition (20 or less) and is printed to a high-quality archival standard.
