    Description

“MindTrip” is a digital painting which can be printed with any type material as a base such as Giclee printing or canvas wrap printing etc etc.

“MindTrip” explores how we feel about ourselves from a personal perspective. Our brains can be very powerful if we let it invade our true reality. We as humans tend to forget that we are made up of electrical impulses and bodily chemicals. Our minds control everything. The painting emphasizes irrational, distorted thinking about how one might see themselves, and yet the image is so far from reality because a person could not possibly look like this. However, the person does believe it in their distorted viewpoint. The painting is surreal and symbolic.

As with most of my artwork, my inspiration comes from how our minds can control us in so many ways both positive and negative. There’s such an emphasis on body image in our society today that I like to explore these issues.

    Hope you enjoy “MindTrip”

    Concept

As an artist, I am very interested in having viewers be curious and wonder about my artwork. I am wanting people to question “What’s the artist saying in this drawing, painting or sculpture?” I am interested in the human brain and how we think. My artwork represents the inner workings of how our minds perceive certain feelings, fears and mind disorders. We are constantly bombarded with so many images from the media, our everyday way of life and more, that depending on each individual we all take it in differently and express ourselves differently. Our brains are so powerful that we tend to forget that we are controlled by electrical impulses and bodily chemicals. My work wants to explore these issues, and I hope through my work help people understand as well.

I like to use all different types of mediums when I work. Every medium is different and unique. For me, I am always exploring how mediums work in harmony with each other, and when I see harmony that I feel is appropriate for the piece I am creating I go with it.

Early on, I was inspired by how art can make one feel and see things differently. The freedom I feel in my process is so inspiring. I am also inspired by other artists and seeing their process.

The human mind and figure is my base within my artwork. I then focus on what I want to say, but I don’t just make my message obvious. I want people to interpret my work the way they want. Everyone sees art differently and that’s the beauty of it.
