Pertti Huhtala (born 1951) is a visual artist from Rovaniemi whose creative work combines traditional art forms with digital applications. He completed his undergraduate studies in fine arts at the University of Lapland in 2019, but his passion for art is deeply rooted in the past. He has been deepening his knowledge of digital possibilities since the beginning of the 21st century, which is reflected in his work. Nature, its diversity and constant change are at the heart of Huhtala's art. He captures the colors and moods of Lapland's nature using his extensive expertise in various techniques. Oil painting tempera and acrylic painting, graphics and photography are part of Huhtala's expression. He uses image processing methods or the possibilities of AR technology, and naturally connects them to his art. Huhtala is particularly interested in nature photography and its various forms, the possibilities offered by AR technology for restoring nature, an example of which is his work dealing with migratory fish. Huhtala's artistic process is a continuous development, where he can return to his old works, bringing new perspectives and relevance to them. He has also served as the chairman of the Finnish Fine Arts Society for over 10 years, which speaks to his strong contribution to the art community. Huhtala's art is a living dialogue about the essence of art, and it offers the viewer profound experiences of nature and its timeless beauty.
