The softly floating hills and the endlessly bright colors of utopia (2021) create a soft impression. This time, it was produced as a giclee print on a wooden panel with a water-laid finish.
Set in a heartwarming ideal world, utopia is a fantastical collage of multiple layers of 3DCG and drawings, depicting a scene of a peaceful land. A warm breeze seems to blow into the depths of your heart when you look at it carefully. It will bring a sense of serenity to the time you spend in your room.
The materials used were carefully selected to bring out the pastoral atmosphere of the painting. The paper used is KAKITA, a Japanese fine art paper with a soft texture and a long history. 45% or more of KAKITA is made from cotton pulp, a Japanese paper with an appealing warm surface quality. This paper has the expressive power to delicately depict even the warm atmosphere within a picture, quietly bringing out the world view of the design.
The surface of the paper has an archival surface treatment that improves light and abrasion resistance, allowing the work to be displayed unframed with the surface exposed. Although the work is covered with wooden panels, it is lightweight, weighing approximately 400 grams. It is also 2 cm thick.
The paper tape used in the wood panel water-stretching process is the first moss green colored tape that goes well with this pattern. When viewed from the side at an angle, the color on the sides provides just the right accent.
The work comes with a certificate of authenticity, certifying that it is a giclee supervised by the artist.
