    Concept

When I stare at a mountain, I feel a variety of emotions that are difficult to put into words.
They are feelings of preciousness, fear, strangeness, longing for a dignified appearance, and many other mixed feelings that are not unified at all.

The reason I feel this way is because I see mountains not as "scenery" but as "living things. The way it transforms over time is like a mountain's great breath, and this breath seems to be the proof that the mountain is alive.
The word "gunung" means "mountain" in Indonesian. When I heard this word, I had the impression that it represented the "living sound of the mountain," like its heartbeat or breathing. I believe that this image is connected to my work, in which mountains are seen as living things.

The mountains I draw do not exist, they are imaginary mountains. Every day I repeat the act of capturing the mountains of my imagination, and imprint my breath and energy into the "mountains that do not exist in reality" that arise from my senses. By conceptually depicting the mountains, I hope to convey the fact that they are imaginary, and at the same time, express the mountains as "living things" rather than "landscapes.
