In recent years, he has been experimenting with different techniques for large and small works, such as size 100. One of the techniques he uses in his small works is "uraisai" (裏彩色), a technique in which dyes and other materials are blotted from the back of the paper. This technique is originally used for Buddhist paintings and silk books, but I use it for Japanese paper. My work is supported by recently developed mediums and the traditional material of washi. I would like to create paintings that interweave accidental expressions such as blotches, which are characteristic of paper as a support material, with depictions that emphasize sketching, in an attempt to create my own style of flower-and-bird paintings.
