Concept

My art is a means of expression to give form to unseen thoughts and feelings. I approach my inner world through both photography and painting. Photography records the outside world through a lens, but what I want to express is what cannot be captured through that lens. I want to capture feelings that are invisible to the eye, but that were certainly there at that moment, so I take pictures with my "hands" rather than a mechanical lens. In my paintings, I express the origin of my thought process. Using prime numbers, letters, bold lines, and colors, I visualize the disparate thoughts and complex emotions floating around in my head. It is the richness of thought before it becomes words, before it is whittled down to make it "easier for others to understand. In my work, I write down my daily impressions of the Heart Sutra, the mantra of Prajnaparamita, tanka poems, lines from movies, etc., and the work itself serves as a diary or memo. Through both photography and painting, I delve into my inner self. While photography records the outside world through a lens, what I aim to express is what the lens cannot capture. In my paintings, I express the origins of my thought process. This represents rich thoughts before they are put into words and simplified for others to understand. My works often contain daily impressions, such as the Heart Sutra, the mantra of Prajñāpāramitā, poems, and movie quotes, turning the pieces into words. and movie quotes, turning the pieces into a form of diary or memo.

Biography

Biography After 10 years of photography, I started working on painting in 2019. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and his works have been shown in Kagawa, Tokyo, Niigata, Ibaraki, Aichi, Kyoto, Ehime, Okayama, Kochi, and abroad in Singapore and Finland. I have also exhibited multiple times as an invited artist. My documentary photo book "Kotoden Butsuboyama Factory" was published nationally by Akaisha in 2012, and the poster featuring my photographs won the award of excellence from the All Japan Federation of Trade Unions, and my work has been widely acclaimed. In addition, my art photography work was selected as a finalist in the Shiseido Art Egg in 2015 and had a solo exhibition at the Ginza Shiseido Gallery in 2016; in 2017, a 4-meter photographic print was permanently displayed in the lobby of the new building of Sato Food Industries in Niigata, and my art photography is also highly My art photography has also been highly evaluated.
