Born on January 23, 1950 in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. Spent his elementary school years drawing pictures in his notebook during class. His friends liked it, but he could not remember the content of the lessons. In junior high school, he was a member of the track and field club, but gave up being an athlete due to a breakdown. He entered the prestigious Karatsu Higashi High School, but formed a band called Bacon Beans. He was a great dropout because he concentrated on his music activities. Entered Hosei University. Joined the Country Rangers and continued his music activities. After graduation, he joined a foreign film purchasing company where he had been working part-time since his college days. In 1979, he established his own business, TAMUTO Co. Ltd. in 1979. He purchases foreign films and foreign music videos and soundtracks from overseas, and distributes and sells them through Japanese distribution companies, record companies, and video companies. He moved to Asakusa, Tokyo, yearning for a life of leisurely strolls through the downtown area in a kimono. While continuing his work with Tamto, he opened "Ebisudo" on Asakusa Denboin-dori in November 2001. As an office, atelier, and gallery, it produced and sold original crafts and paintings. In June 2010, "Yebisudo" was closed. In July of the same year, he turned his apartment in Asakusa 3-chome into a studio and gallery, where he continues to create artwork along with his work for Tamto. For the past several years, he has concentrated on recycled art using materials that are no longer needed. He creates paintings and crafts using used paper and used boxes. He also paints pictures with animal motifs and makes videos in support of nature conservation and animal welfare.
