Born to a Slavic mother and a father with Turkish roots, Sona has been exposed to ethnically diverse culture since her early childhood. Being a schoolgirl, she started to study classic painting and drawing techniques and attended classes of a famous artist-teacher. By the age of sixteen Sona had already created a number of bright works including custom-made illustrations, collages and paintings. After leaving school, she continued education at Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering where she studied Sculpture, Ceramics, Fine and Graphic Arts, History of Arts and Philosophy. Throughout her career, Guzelle has been taking part and co-arranging art exhibitions and events. She has experience in teaching art and design as well as in urban environment improvement. Some of the artist’s paintings are parts of permanent collections in local and foreign museums and have been bought by contemporary art collectors all over the world. Postmodernism, Abstract Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism are the styles the artist favors most. The preferable media are acrylic paint and either huge or miniature canvases.

Sona divides her time between Kazan and Saint-Petersburg, happily getting inspired even by the air flights.
