When Bob Hendriks attended high school in the Netherlands, his art teacher asked him to draw a bird. That bird, a rather abstract and plump feathered creature, was the young artist’s first of many steps on his artistic journey.

Encouraged by his teacher and discouraged by his more practical parents, Bob followed an alternate career path but never lost his love for the blank canvas. Arriving in Canada in 2001, his successes as an accomplished commercial photographer and graphic designer put him in high demand as a creative director. This ultimately led to his role as editor in the publishing of art books.

The mesmerizing energy found within Bob’s deeply personal and vibrant pieces is fuelled by experimentation with textures and tools. His works are part of private and corporate collections in Switzerland, San Francisco, the Netherlands and Montreal. He is available for commissioned works.
