Statement I have been a full time visual artist for more than 12 years, although my beginnings were as an artisan certified by Fomento Industrial, I was a metal and sheet metal beater. As a child I grew up in the hardware industry and paint factories in Puerto Rico of very well known brands, since my father worked in it all his life and I would go to work with him which I enjoyed very much. I learned as a child to play with commercial paints and all about their components. That's where the fascination for paint and its uses was born. As a professional artist I create the "Dreamflowers" or "Dreamflowers" a flower or flowers full of color which are very striking on a base also rich in chromatics. These flowers are sometimes compared to native flowers, (poppies) but the reality is that they are abstract and many of them can vary in the number of petals, sometimes five, six, seven or even eight. The "Dreamflowers" I frame them on black with a maze in the center giving them a fantasy or cartoonish touch. I share with you that I don't always make sketches or plans, I just let myself be carried away by the brush and capture what I have already visualized in my mind. My sketchbooks vary in content, as I like to explore all media and subjects of interest. I'm a self-taught artist so I always try to do labs in my studio to learn daily about textures, colors and new techniques besides taking online classes to expand my knowledge. The theme in which I am recognized is the "Dreamflowers" although in many occasions I commit what I call small acts of rebellion and I paint about other themes that are marking the history, current events or personal feelings. You will be able to see some of the works I do outside my theme.

I have been a full time visual artist for more than 12 years, although my beginnings were as an artisan certified by Fomento Industrial, I was a metal and sheet metal beater. As a child I grew up in the hardware industry and paint factories in Puerto Rico of very well known brands, since my father worked in it all his life and I would go to work with him which I enjoyed very much. Waleska Carlo was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She has been a self-taught abstract floral contemporary plastic artist for more than a decade. She has some studies in Communications, Public Relations and has also taken courses on Business Administration, Dressmaking, Public art, Painting and many others. Since she was little, she loved art and always expressed herself using creativity. In 2011, she owned and managed a novelty store, which helped improve her management skills. Her voice was used for many radio commercials in many Stations. She also had a capsule for a radial program in 107.7 FM station called "Recréate con Waleska Carlo" where she talks about entertainment activities in Puerto Rico. She worked as a host for a Radio Talk Show called "La Hora del Tapón" in Florida, US, and recorded many important radio commercials and news capsules. Furthermore, she loves to create Videos for her brand and worked as Brand Ambassador for many other Brands, helping them to generate more sales announcing them in social media, Capsules on Live TV shows and many others. Not only that, but she is an art Influencer and you can see her videos in all social media. She also paints murals and works with many artistic styles and techniques. She has been a part of many Collectives, and you can find her in a Worldwide Art Book, named “The Contemporary Art of Excellence" Volume II, (CAE) February 2016, it is the second fully-illustrated art dictionary that showcases contemporary artworks, curated by GAA. Likewise, she is also a Cultural Manager who organized International Art exhibitions at her studio and gallery where locals and artists around the world participate. The artist theme is "DREAMFLOWERS" but she paints many other topics. Last year, she inaugurated her studio in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where visitors can see her work and buy her paintings.
