Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting;
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting
And cometh from afar;

So wrote Wordsworth. I create to remember, to go home to that far place and bring light specks from it here. I began to paint after dreaming I was painting. The process is a meditation, the products a moment or a message that settles me in that place of light. Self taught, I’m led by dreams and images seen in meditation. Color and form, like nature, are great teachers. As a writer I’ve striven and published in most genres. Coming later to painting I know to focus: with abstracts I express the depths and the heights. With practice I resist running after figures and faces. If they creep or peek back in, so be it. I welcome all.
