Francisco Javier Carpe, -J.Carpe- was born in Murcia, Spain, on June 24th, 1998.
Senior BFA student at University of Murcia, J.Carpe offers us through his art work, mostly oils on canvas, a really innovative post-cubism style, featured by the curved line, the dissection, a fluid composition and the color decomposition, thus getting a larger vision or perspective about the shape.
This innovation turns the audience into part of it, as they must echo with the free reconstitution of the object’s image that it is offered to them, synthetically-seen, and many times, from all its sides, remarking the great influence of Juan Gris, Picasso, Braque and María Blanchard, in their cubism period, in addition to pay tribute to murcian artists as Párraga or Antonio Hernández Carpe.
Pioneer of “Coffism” and current reference of this art style and movement, he began to exhibit his art work in 2.019, linking expositions since then, one to each other, on several times. It highlights his use of “napkins” as support for the sketching of some of his most remarkable works, painting on them using ink, coffee and/or red wine, and which are sometimes exhibited alongside the main works.
