His cinematografic vision extends over the canvas. The dynamism is divided in three parts as they could be three stills on a movie reel. Yet Jelle delivers a work of art that can be experienced in many ways repeatedly. Jelle deconstructs by depicting the single stroke with such emotion they tend look like they say ‘come play’ when viewed in isolation. In parallel a visual playing field unfolds that takes the viewer by surprise by an specific composition of strokes that sometimes reminds of secret sign-language from up-close but remains volatil naïve in the bigger picture.

The artist is fascinated with so called “perceptional realities” and these works offer a great insight in the working of his psyche. There is much to see as an abundance of visual keypoints is presented.




Since 2005 JELLE DEBUSSCHER (‘79) paints a universe of abstract translations from the heart.

His colorful, dynamic and extensive oeuvre invites te viewer to let the eye swerve and get lost within the strokes of seemingly random patterned fractality.

They lay the way for a viewer to find rest within the immersive act of perception that fuel a complex imagery of stylized refinement and unraveling abstraïsm.
