Parhelion was born on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent and was schooled on Barbados, Jamaica, and Toronto. He worked as a corporate lawyer in the British Virgin Islands and resides on Barbados at the moment, where he works as a corporate lawyer and with United Nations Environment as a biosafety adviser. He never thought of being an artist or saw himself as such (he was even subtly discouraged from it as a very small boy by a distasteful incident of racism on Barbados). It wasn’t until August 2007 C.E. that he began exploring action painting, under the nom de guerre “Parhelion”. For him, therefore, becoming an artist is the flowering of a hitherto unsuspected talent that he is absolutely convinced it is his true calling, a passion—it’s never too late to discover and follow your true, willed direction. It makes itself known no matter the discouragement and disregard. From 2012 to the present he has been exhibited at numerous physical and virtual exhibitions and galleries, including:
“Colourful Interiors” by Zoe Feldman Design, online, Washington DC, USA, 2020; “Farewell Ambassador Gustavo”, the Argentinean Embassy, Barbados, 2020; “Resolutions” by Artists Alliance Barbados, the Argentinean Embassy, 2019; The Multinational Fair, Barbados, 2014; “The Story Of the Creative”, See.Me gallery, New York, USA., 2013; “The Giants Among Us”, the Bridgetown Gallery, Barbados, 2013; “Untold Gold—2012 African & African-Caribbean Design Diaspora Bargehouse Festival”, White Box Gallery, London, UK, 2012
