As a painter I keep learning, which means my themes change regularly. The most dominant now are my semi-abstract landscapes. Nature is very important in my life and therefore also in my work. I love being outside and gather images of nature in my head, pictures and memories of places which bring me inspiration. Back in my studio I change these impressions into semi-abstract open spaces. In my work I like to transform reality and play with colors, light, shapes, movements. The result might appear a little distorted, even if realistic, but I always search for harmony. My paintings have to give the viewer a feeling of spaciousness while they give the eye something to search for. There are no people in these landscapes: everybody can live there or wander around. I want to give the viewer the freedom to recognize or interpret the scenery. Lately I also started painting still lifes, which I approach the same way as I do with my landscapes.
