Concept

While all the arts share common ground, music, poetry and painting share a heavy reliance on poetic inspiration. Poetry goes beyond the meaning of the words it uses, music expresses emotions without words and painting, in spite of the long descriptions and endless jargon used to express the work, a painting success rests solely in its ability to communicate without words. The function of painting is too present things that language can’t express. “When a picture can be explained, when it can be made to be understood, or felt by means of words, it has nothing to do with painting” Maurice de Vlaminck.

Biography

I began studying art at age thirteen in 1966. Studied privately with Alphonse Shelton. Attended Plymouth State College, the Art Institute of Boston and Clark University. What first inspired me to be an artist was seeing Michelangelo's Pieta at the worlds fair in New York City 1964, from that moment I knew they are my goal was to be an artist. I am an amateur musician who is interested in the study of comparative religion, history and mythology.
