Born in 1988, Edgard was raised in Petropolis, a mountainous city right outside of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the age of 15 years old, he moved with his family to the suburbs of Coral Springs, FL.

He spent 14 years there before relocating to New York City in 2017.

Edgard has been an awarded poet from middle school, but in high school he changed his artistic focus to street art, Japanese manga, and photography.

Inspired by Brazilian Concrete poetry, and Japanese popular culture, Edgard sought to bridge the gap he perceived between movements such as pop art, de stijl and street art. His answer was korigami, a simple folding technique inspired by origami, that doesn’t require any tools, used to achieve photographic and graphic abstraction that explores the idea of eternity within throw-away culture.
