Bee Hanlon is a Australian mixed media artist, working from her home studio in the Manning Valley, NSW. Creating from a young age, she unconsciously put her art on the backburner while she spent a number of years working in an office environment. While on maternity leave and having some spare time on her hands, she returned to painting with a regular practice and she found joy in being able to create again. Sharing her work on Instagram and connecting with fellow artists and collectors alike, she took on some commissions for custom work as well as selling her original art.

Combining a process driven art practice with a dynamic method of layering, mark making and use of colour, she strives to be fluid and spontaneous in her work. Working mainly in acrylic and a variety of mixed media including pencil, graphite, oil pastel and paint markers, she works intuitively to create her abstract pieces. Drawing inspiration from real and imagined landscapes that surround her in the Manning Valley and also from locations that she has seen on her travels through the world, she interprets these in an abstract manner, deconstructing down to the basics of colour and form.

Most recently her work was a part of the “Summer Vibes” group show at The Space Gallery, (Rosebery, NSW). Her work is also held in private collections in Australia and also overseas. Her artwork has been featured in Art / Edit Magazine (Spring 2019 Issue 22) and she is a featured artist on Bluethumb - the home of Australian Artists.
