Growing up in Tokyo, Jorj Wilfrid was exposed to the culture of New York, Paris, and London by his parents. Because of this, he always took a step back and looked at Tokyo from a different perspective. He studied linguistics at university, where he learned not only language but also human nature. He learned that language can give new value to existing things and transform them into something new. He then began to think that he would like to be involved in "clothing," "food," and "housing," which are the essence of human nature. In considering his future career, he looks back on his past and realizes that he loved to combine cultures. During his time in Tokyo, he came into contact with different cultures, absorbed what he found interesting, and added it to his own sensibilities. Tokyo seems to be a complex mix of traditions and different cultures, but he finds that this complexity is what makes Tokyo so appealing. At first glance, these seemingly different things are connected. And this, he thought, was the same as the total arts. Upon graduating from university, he launched JOTY JOYC, a comprehensive art brand with the mission of "creating something sophisticated that can be understood at any time," based on his favorite genres of "clothing," "artwork," "photography," "video," and "sound," and using the design language of "Miyabi. His design language, "Miyabi", is a language of "elegance". His design language, "Miyabi", is a Japanese aesthetic sense, a value system that values etherealness, imperfection, and elegance. It is supported by five keywords: dignity, gravity, solemnity, urbanity, and bravery. These are the values that form the foundation of his work. His paintings are hand-painted abstractions. He is interested in adding a gravity-like force to his work, which expresses his emotions. He also uses zigzags in his work. This expresses the fact that he himself faces difficulties when he does something new, but he still pushes forward. Through these values, he expresses his beliefs to those who see his work. Although we live in a world of uncertainty, he believes that the world will change if we keep moving forward without forgetting who we are. Using the zine language of "elegance," Jorj Wilfrid, the general artist of JOTY JOYC, will continue to be a luxe brand for his people and create something sophisticated that will always be relevant.
