Concept

Anatomical research in the design of the eyes and hands is based above all on expression and gestures, initially combined with a sort of hyperrealism, then increasingly directed towards the definition of space by light and shadow, as well as through the use of straight lines of different sizes. In etching, on the other hand, the artist uses a technique developed by himself based on a series of segments very close to each other performed in a quick repetition, which are acidized using morsures ranging from 20 to 80 minutes in nitric acid diluted in water at 1/9. This long and tiring work allows him to have shadows that are not sharp and dark like those with aquatint, and therefore not always interpretable, despite the intuitive figuration of the works.

Biography

Antonio Motta was born in 1998 in Italy, studyed at the J. Stellini classical high school in Udine in 2017 and then graduated in Graphic Art from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, in February 2022. Antonio Motta was born in 1998 in Italy, studyed at the J. Stellini classical high school in Udine in 2017 and then graduated in Graphic Art from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, in February 2022. In this period he became interested in etching and the design of the human body, in particular of the hands and eyes; he also began to frequent the Art Printing House Albicocco, where he had his engravings printed and forged relationships with some of the most important engraving artists in Italy. He participates in the group exhibitions "Art night" at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, "Cose dell'altro mondo" at the Garzoni powder magazine in Palmanova and "Dante7Cento" at the space L'officina dell'arte in Conegliano. For February he has scheduled another exhibition in Pavia di Udine. He likes to play football, travel on his Vespa and eat sushi.
