Gifu is located in the center of Japan. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers, it is a traditional city with many cultural buildings. Mino tiles are high quality smoked tiles made using traditional techniques, and have been used mainly in the construction of temples and shrines and in the restoration of cultural properties. When a roof is thatched, tiles designed to protect the eaves from evil are called onigawara. Onishi are the people who inherit the various techniques used to create onigawara. The two Onigens of Onikenawara are said to be the "last Onishi" of Mino tiles. In order not to let this technique die out, we would like to invite as many people as possible to enjoy the rare works created by the two.
