Takayuki Takigawa is a stuffed animal artist who specializes in teddy bears. Originally, stuffed toys were healing objects that attracted many people with their cute appearance and fluffy comfort. However, the stuffed animals he produces are strangely shaped to look like trees or rocks, drawing a line between the viewer and the work and making the viewer recognize the respect for silence. Takigawa studied primitive plastic beauty (archaeology Jomon culture ornaments) in graduate school and worked at a teddy bear museum as a curator, deepening his knowledge of the subject. He then created a method of creating plush toys and dioramas in one piece, which won the Grand Prix in a contest held by the Japan Teddy Bear Association.
