Concept

I have always been interested in Birds and their synergy with nature. One of the most interesting birds is the Sunbird because they always are seen with flowers and other ornamental plants. My concept here was to portray the Sunbird amongst the plants they usually interact with so people will be drawn to their colorful feathers amidst the plants and wonder at the beauty of nature. This artwork is rendered in colored pencils on Fabriano artistico hot pressed paper. The size is 20 cm width x 25.5 cm height.

Biography

I am a freelance visual artist who has been interested in art as a medium of expression and as a way of communicating with the viewer my concepts and ideas on life and art. I create artworks that resonate with my love of nature and express my ideas in visually compelling artwork. I have an unlimited desire to continually hone my skills. I am currently teaching online students assisting them to find inspiration for art and design by demonstrating how they can use the elements of art and principles of design in their artworks.I have been actively painting and drawing since 2018 and is a featured artist in filipinoart.ph which is an online art gallery platform, but before that my experience as an Interior Designer/ Consultant has always been in line with art as well since I would plot perspectives and render them manually for clients approval. I graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Interior Design in 1987 and took up additional course in Bachelor of Science in Architecture for 2 years. I have worked in internationally renowned firms in Singapore for 6 years and Bali, Indonesia. Locally I was the head of Interior Design in Palafox Associates for 4 years and Planners,Designers ,Consultants for 6 years. I was tasked to select Artworks for our projects so I have a keen eye for Visual aesthetics which I try to use in my art. I am 55 years old. I am the eldest of five siblings and am single. I took up an online course recently (2021) from the Museum of Modern art: Modern art and Ideas so I can apply what I learned toy future artworks. My additional skills are painting in acrylics, watercolor and mixed media. I also do manual 3D perspectives of Interiors. I do Autocad and use Photoshop as well. I am eager to reach out to the Art World and expose my Artworks to an international audience to showcase my work.
