Concept

Her love of colors, flowers, and surrealism anchor a lot of her work and genuinely reflect her soul and personality. While she uses a variety of materials and processes in each project her methodology is consistent. Renate is interested in expressing basic human emotions – tragedy, ecstasy, doom, and so on. Her subject matter tends to be those fragmentary passages that reside within the mundane – the in-between spaces of our lives that we see but often do not notice.

Biography

Renate Natalja is a visual artist and printmaker from Norway. She has a small studio in the heart of Oslo, where she spends most of the time. Her work is informed by personal experiences, observations, and curiosities. Her love of bold colors, flowers, and geometry anchor a lot of her work and genuinely reflect her soul and personality. Renate loves to experiment with different materials and acrylic colors. She tries to incorporate this experience into printed works through collage, paper, and photo stencils.
