I love to make classical mixed media collages, starting with an elaborate sketch and working up to a final version on canvas, cardboard, plastic panel, or wood - making a complex composition with a lot of materials such as leather, (old) photos, pictures from books and magazines, metallic pieces, contours, colored pencils, and charcoal/chalk, etc. In general, I add touches with paint, acrylic most of the time, but I use all kinds of colored sprays, colored pencils, and permanent markers, founded pieces of burlap or linen, strings, and cords, or ropes, artificial crystals, wooden and metallic balls, etc.
I try to give a new life to lots of scrap materials, found anywhere in my area – this is important for me! I’m self-taught, and I was/I am very involved in the organization of an annual art camp in my town - dozens of professional artists from Romania and abroad - painters, sculptors, collage artists, graphic designers! I stay among them, I spent hours and hours with those creators each day, I learned thousands of very good hints, important details about different materials, lessons about lights and colors, etc. - so I have decided to experiment, to work hard, to improvise, as a true Dadaist!
These are the chapters of my art career! As an artist, I think that what you will discover about me will help you understand the great importance of experiments with collages and mixed media in my life!
