Ekaterina Ilina was born in 1991 in the city of Cheboksary, Russia.
She grew up in St. Petersburg, studied at the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art in the department of ceramics for one year, then for two years she studied at courses in the workshop at the department of monumental painting. But she decided to follow her own creative path.
In 2012-2016, she worked as a restorer, a modeler and painted walls at many cultural heritage sites (the building of the Conservatory in Moscow, the Kronstadt Cathedral, the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg etc.).
In 2017, she moved to Georgia, Tbilisi, because she felt unsafe in Russia and the political dynamics made her depressed.
She works as a freelance children's book illustrator and now lives in Batumi. Since 2021, she has been practicing Buddhist meditation and studying Jungian psychoanalysis in Ukrainian Psychology School.
