Kayoko Takamitsu continues to work on the theme of psychological and material distance between people. Her technique is characterized by image erasure. While a painter's job is usually to depict something, Kayoko Takamitsu uses a unique technique of "erasing" by repeatedly erasing and blurring the image. Most of her works are portraits, concentrating on the atmosphere, emotions, and other unseen elements rather than on the people themselves. Even though we cannot read the facial expressions of the painted figures, we can feel their presence, as if we can smell their scent or even feel their body temperature. The soft touch and gentle atmosphere obtained by erasing and dazing take us into a sensual world without showing the complexity of the technique. The oil paints used are Winsor & Newton, the highest quality oil paints with excellent durability and transparency, founded in 1832 by William Winsor, a scientist, and Henry Newton, an artist, and still loved by artists all over the world.
