Moore Rockefeller's aesthetic revolves around achieving pure forms against a monochromatic background. The interplay of light reflecting off metallic colors creates both a sense of space and the silhouette.
By utilizing paint and iridescent colors, he transforms the human body, drawing inspiration from collage and sculpture. In his work, drawing and color are inseparable. Every line, curve, and flat color contributes to the creation of a form, which is further enhanced by the interaction and combination of colors. His palette, comprised of metallic colors, evolves in various ways, generating strength and energy, ultimately becoming his signature style.
"My intention is not to represent an idealized and stereotyped body, as I acknowledge the diversity of bodies. I am solely interested in the manifestations of life and their forms, which I transcend through the use of body elements, sculpted silhouettes, and abstract nudity. The brushstrokes become the architecture of the body. The abstract forms projected onto the bodies of my subjects possess a pop dimension, like erotic icons rooted in the 2000s. They serve as odes to femininity, to the autonomous, authentic, and liberated woman.
I work instinctively, guided by emotions and vibrations, like a fusion with life itself. Each line corresponds to an idea. The body, with its plasticity and sensuality, seems to occupy the entire canvas. The proportions vary depending on the canvas size, with the construction unfolding organically. I shape the human body with a knife and bursts of color, simulating the metamorphosis into bursts of life. From this energy, a sensation is born in the moment. The graphics, the intensity of each brushstroke, and the materials harmonize and articulate into a unique abstract figure. Through this process, I aspire to achieve an aesthetic transposition of my reality." A.M. Rockefeller (February 2014).

Born in Paris in 1988 into a family of industrialists, Alexandre Moore Rockefeller discovered painting by enrolling in art classes. There, he honed his technique and developed a passion for the history of art, with a particular focus on studying the nude.
For him, human flesh represents the ultimate source of personal power. His work draws inspiration from artists who have elevated the ideal beauty of the human body, such as Titian (especially "The Venus of Urbino"), Velasquez, Goya, Monet, Matisse, Modigliani, and Tom Wesselmann. Throughout his life, he sought to make his own mark on the present while drawing from a precise understanding of the past.
