Biography
Alona Shybunova was born on June 10, 1983. She lives in Kyiv, Ukraine.
She graduated from the Children's Art School in the city of Vasylkiv. She received her higher education at the KNU of Technology and Design, department of fashion designer.

In 2010, she held a solo exhibition "Living Geometry" in the Svitlitsa Gallery.
2010 — awarded with a certificate for significant contribution to the development of traditional Ukrainian culture, Non-governmental organization "Fund to promote the preservation and development of Ukrainian traditional culture "Malva"
In 2014-2015, she studied at the School of Contemporary Art at the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems, a course on contemporary art.
From 2016 to 2018, she was a co-founder and member of the "Light" art group, the tutor of the group was Myroslav Vajda, and she also took private lessons from Myroslav Vajda.
She implemented several projects with the group, some of them:
- "Plastic period" international winter land art festival Mythogenesis, Scythian settlement, Vinnytsia region;
- "Her space" Lab24, Kyiv;
- Project "Leaving no traces...", Gogolfest ArkSquat, Kyiv;
- "Outside the zone" XXI international land-art symposium Mogrytsia, Sumy region;
- Video documentation of the performance "Connections", NewWaveExhibition vol.2, Lviv;
- Installation "Rain" National Botanical Garden named after M.M. Hryshka of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv.
In 2018, she took part in the exhibition "Where to next?" IZOLYATSIA Ukraine, dedicated to ecology.
She implemented her own project "Loneliness in the network" as part of the AirGogolFest festival in Vinnytsia.
In 2019, she participated in the festival "Blockheide Leuchtet Licht. Kunst und Natur" in Gmund, Austria.
In December 2019, she implemented the project "2\1" (jointly with Evgenia Antonova) in the art basement of the Kharkiv Municipal Gallery, Ukraine.
And in 2021, she took part in the exhibition "Where I am", which took place in Lviv in the Dziga gallery.
In 2022 year participated in the "Light defeats darkness" exhibition at the Green hill gallery in Berlin, Germany.
In 2023, she held a personal exhibition "Silence" in the Avangarden gallery, Kyiv.
Alona Shybunova works with graphics, bas-relief, installation, and performance. The artist works with personal themes, explores psychological states and feelings, and reflects on external events and internal experiences. For her, art is communication with the world.
